Katawa Shoujo


Four Leaf Studios' Katawa Shoujo finally has a release date of January 4th, 2012. For those of you who haven't heard of the game, it is a project started by a group of users from the /a/ (anime) board on the 4chan website. Here is a description taken directly from their website:

"Katawa Shoujo is a bishoujo-style visual novel set in the fictional Yamaku High School for disabled children, located somewhere in modern Japan. Hisao Nakai, a normal boy living a normal life, has his life turned upside down when a congenital heart defect forces him to move to a new school after a long hospitalization. Despite his difficulties, Hisao is able to find friends—and perhaps love, if he plays his cards right. There are five main paths corresponding to the 5 main female characters, each path following the storyline pertaining to that character."

Although I never got through the Act 1 demo they released over a year ago, I'm excited to see how the full game turns out.

    It's a visual novel, basically a Create Your Own Adventure-type story where you make decisions at certain points. For example, your choices determine which girl you end up dating.
